RadNet expands to Idaho through Trinity Health JV
RadNet formed a joint venture with Trinity Health’s Saint Alphonsus Health System through a majority stake in Intermountain Medical Imaging. The deal adds 5 Boise-area imaging centers and expands RadNet into Idaho.

RadNet has expanded into Idaho through a new joint venture with Trinity Health’s Saint Alphonsus Health System.
The Los Angeles-based outpatient imaging operator said it formed the joint venture by acquiring a majority equity position in Intermountain Medical Imaging, LLC, which owns 5 outpatient multimodality imaging centers in the Boise area.
The Idaho joint venture includes 3 outpatient imaging centers in Meridian and Eagle, as well as imaging facilities at 2 Saint Alphonsus medical centers. The centers provide MRI, CT, PET/CT, mammography, ultrasound, X-rays, and related procedures.
RadNet said the transaction expands its national footprint and brings the company into its 11th state. The company expects the joint venture to generate about $30M in annual revenue.
Gem State Radiology will continue to provide professional radiology services to the 5 locations. The Boise-area practice includes nearly 30 radiologists and has served the Treasure Valley region for more than 50 years, according to RadNet.
The centers will also use RadNet’s DeepHealth technology. The deployment includes DeepHealth OS, a cloud-based clinical imaging management platform, as well as AI-powered reporting tools, an AI orchestrator for diagnostic tools, and DeepHealth’s operations suite for radiology information system and patient-engagement functions.
Norman Hames, RadNet’s president and chief operating officer for western operations, described the relationship with Saint Alphonsus as “a pivotal moment for diagnostic imaging in Idaho.”
Saint Alphonsus Health System is part of Trinity Health and operates across Idaho and Oregon. The health system includes 4 hospitals, 595 licensed beds, 86 medical group clinics, and more than 7,000 colleagues and providers. Its health alliance includes more than 3,400 employed and independent providers.
David McFadyen, president and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Health System, said the relationship with RadNet allows the system to bring outpatient imaging management, workflow efficiency, and AI technologies to its imaging services.
The deal follows RadNet’s February entry into Indiana through the acquisition of 6 imaging centers in the Indianapolis area. With the Idaho expansion, RadNet continues to build its outpatient imaging network through acquisitions and hospital partnerships.
For radiology groups, the transaction highlights 2 continuing market trends: health-system imaging joint ventures and the growing role of AI-enabled workflow infrastructure inside outpatient imaging operations. The professional services arrangement also keeps local radiologist coverage in place while shifting imaging center operations to RadNet.
RadNet now operates more than 420 imaging centers across multiple states, including Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Virginia.
