AIRS Medical SwiftMR gains FDA clearance for OEM MRI pipelines
SwiftMR can now operate with OEM deep-learning reconstruction pipelines to add scan-time reduction or extend AI image enhancement to more MRI sequences.
AIRS Medical has received FDA 510(k) clearance for SwiftMR to operate in conjunction with deep-learning reconstruction pipelines from original equipment manufacturers.
SwiftMR is an MRI image enhancement platform designed to reduce scan times and improve image quality. AIRS Medical describes the software as vendor-neutral and FDA-cleared.
In cases where an OEM deep-learning tool is already installed, the software can provide additional scan-time reduction, according to the company. AIRS Medical said this can help imaging centers reach shorter appointment slots.
For sequences not covered by an OEM tool, SwiftMR can extend AI-powered image enhancement and scan-time reduction to additional pulse sequences and body parts, AIRS Medical said.
At one imaging center using a GE HealthCare 3T scanner with AIR Recon DL, SwiftMR reduced an already accelerated routine brain scan from 15 minutes to 9 minutes, according to the company.
Full-coverage SwiftMR has been FDA-cleared and in clinical use since 2023, AIRS Medical said. The platform is deployed at more than 1,700 imaging centers and hospitals across more than 40 countries.
SwiftMR used with OEM deep-learning reconstruction solutions is available now for imaging centers and hospitals, according to AIRS Medical.
