Subtle Medical raises $33M for AI imaging expansion

The Series C-backed growth capital brings Subtle Medical’s total funding to $86M as the company scales its vendor-neutral AI imaging platform across MRI, PET, and CT.

Subtle Medical has raised $33M in growth capital and appointed Ohad Arazi as CEO as the company prepares for broader commercial expansion.

The financing was anchored by a Series C round led by funds managed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. Shinhan Venture Investment also participated, along with existing investors Fusion Fund, EnvisionX, BRV, and Samsung Ventures.

The round brings Subtle Medical’s total capital raised to $86M. The company said it will use the new funding for product development, global commercial adoption, and expansion of its vendor-neutral AI imaging platform across MRI, PET, and CT workflows.

Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital said Subtle Medical’s software is designed to operate across existing imaging equipment, regardless of manufacturer. The investor said the company’s tools support scan-time reduction, image enhancement, dose optimization, and imaging standardization workflows.

Subtle Medical’s portfolio includes 11 FDA-cleared software products for MRI, PET, and CT workflows, according to Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. Its technology is deployed on more than 1,300 scanners globally.

Arazi previously held CEO and leadership roles at Clarius Mobile Health, Zebra Medical Vision, and Change Healthcare. Subtle Medical said his appointment is intended to support global enterprise expansion.

Enhao Gong, PhD, co-founder and former CEO, has moved into the chief science officer role. He will lead the company’s scientific roadmap and continue supporting operations and strategic partnerships in China.

The company also continues to develop its AI Imaging Hub, a vendor-neutral platform intended to help providers manage imaging performance across modalities and scanner fleets.
