SimonMed deploys AIRS Medical MRI AI platform
SimonMed selected AIRS Medical’s SwiftMR as its enterprise-wide MRI enhancement platform. The FDA-cleared software will be deployed across SimonMed’s national outpatient imaging network.

SimonMed has selected AIRS Medical’s SwiftMR as its enterprise-wide MRI enhancement platform. The FDA-cleared AI software will be deployed across SimonMed’s nationwide imaging center network.
The Scottsdale, AZ-based provider said the decision followed an evaluation of MRI AI platforms. SimonMed said the selection is part of a broader effort to improve MRI quality, access, and consistency across its sites.
SwiftMR is an MRI image enhancement platform developed by AIRS Medical. The software uses deep learning to improve image quality and reduce MRI scan times, according to AIRS Medical.
AIRS Medical said the deployment will span more than 170 SimonMed centers nationwide. SimonMed operates centers across 10 states and is supported by more than 300 subspecialty-trained, board-certified radiologists.
SimonMed said SwiftMR’s vendor-neutral architecture allows deployment across different scanner types, manufacturers, and clinical environments. The software does not require additional hardware investment, according to the company.
Sean Raj, MD, chief medical officer and chief innovation officer at SimonMed, said the company evaluated major MRI AI platforms before selecting AIRS Medical. He cited SwiftMR’s “reliable performance across diverse scanner environments.”
AIRS Medical said SwiftMR is FDA 510(k)-cleared to support MRI scan time reductions of up to 50% in the U.S. The company said clinical results vary by scanner model, field strength, imaging protocol, and site configuration.
The SimonMed announcement follows AIRS Medical’s expanded FDA clearance for SwiftMR to operate with original equipment manufacturer deep-learning reconstruction pipelines. AIRS Medical announced that clearance on April 15.
Under that clearance, SwiftMR can work with installed OEM deep-learning systems to provide additional scan time reduction. AIRS Medical said the software can also extend AI-powered enhancement to pulse sequences not covered by an OEM system.
SwiftMR’s full-coverage version has been in clinical use since 2023, according to AIRS Medical. The company said the platform is deployed at more than 1,700 imaging centers and hospitals across more than 40 countries.
