Braid Health launches $199 radiology second-opinion service
Patients can upload MRI, CT, X-ray, or ultrasound files and receive a written second opinion from a board-certified U.S. radiologist.

Braid Health has launched an online radiology second-opinion service priced at $199 per read. The San Francisco-based company said no referral is required.
Patients can upload MRI, CT, X-ray, or ultrasound files through Braid’s platform. A board-certified U.S. radiologist then provides a written second opinion with annotated findings, according to the company.
Braid said reports are delivered within days. Available use cases include confirming an initial diagnosis, reviewing unexpected findings, preparing for a specialist visit, or seeking more confidence before a care decision.
Kevin Quennesson, CEO and co-founder, said getting an online imaging second opinion should be “as easy as uploading a file.”
Pricing is listed as a flat $199 fee with no hidden fees, facility charges, or insurance requirement. Braid said traditional in-person radiology second opinions can cost $500 to more than $1,500 and may require a referral.
Braid’s website describes the company as pairing AI imaging copilots with board-certified radiologists for second opinions, Ask AI explanations, and clinic workflows.
The company received FDA clearance in 2020 for its AI-powered diagnostic collaboration software. At the time, Braid said the platform allowed providers and radiologists to access, review, annotate, and share diagnostic images from mobile devices.
Braid Health was founded in 2018 by Kevin Quennesson and Alessandro Sabatelli, according to the company’s earlier FDA clearance announcement.
